The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has opened applications for the TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship Programme for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This prestigious scholarship is part of the 10-year Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) initiative (2023–2033). It aims to develop the next generation of African leaders who will drive inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient transformation of agriculture and agri-food systems.
About the TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship
The programme supports economically disadvantaged but academically competent young Africans to access quality university education. It focuses on strengthening universities and TVET institutions to better serve their communities through skilling and empowerment.
Key Features:
- Fully funded scholarship (covers tuition, accommodation, stipend, and other costs)
- Open to both male and female applicants
- Special encouragement for females, refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and persons with disabilities

Undergraduate Programmes:
- Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
- Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Extension and Community Development
- Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness
- Bachelor of Science in Horticulture
Postgraduate Programmes:
- Master of Philosophy in Agricultural Extension
- Master of Philosophy in Aquaculture
- Master of Philosophy in Crop Science

Stage 2: TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship Application Submit your scholarship application through the RUFORUM Information Management System (RIMS): https://rims2.ruforum.org/login/?next=/ (Select the Call ID: RU/2026 UCC/TAGDEV2.0)
Important: You must first apply for admission to UCC before or alongside the scholarship application. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for further processes.
Required Documents (for scholarship application):
- Unofficial results slip / Certified Transcripts and Certificates
- Proof of date of birth (Birth Certificate, Ghana Card, or Passport)
- English translation of documents (if applicable)
Application Deadline: 1st May 2026 (Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis in some cases apply early)
