The partnership introduces a special overdraft facility that provides immediate financial relief during delays in the monthly allowance disbursement cycle.
This announcement was made in an official press release issued today, Thursday, by the NSA Headquarters in Accra.
Key Highlights of the Overdraft Relief Facility
- Overdraft Limit: Up to 85% of your monthly NSA allowance
- Interest: Zero interest for the entire period of the delay
- Collateral: None required
- Repayment: Automatic once the NSA releases the delayed allowance
- Eligibility: All active National Service Personnel who open or already have an Absa Ignition Account
This facility directly addresses the common frustration of delayed allowances that often leave young graduates struggling with rent, transport, food, and other essential expenses.
Official Statements
Madam Ruth Dela Seddoh, Director-General of the National Service Authority, said:
“We hear the frustration of our service personnel, and we are taking concrete action. Delays in release of funds have, at times, placed hardship on young graduates serving their nation. This NSA partnership with Absa Bank… will ensure that no NSP will be left stranded due to timing mismatches between their service and their allowance.”
Edward Nartey Botchway, Director of Absa Bank Ghana LTD, added:
“At Absa, we understand how allowance delays can put real pressure on young graduates, especially when they are trying to cover basics such as rent and transport. This collaboration… aims to bridge that gap and ensure that a delay in disbursement does not become a crisis for our national service personnel.”
