The Law Institute Rebrands as Ghana’s Premier Hub for Legal and Compliance Training
The Law Institute (TLI), Ghana’s leading vocational legal and compliance training institution, has officially relaunched with a bold new vision: to become the country’s premier hub for professional legal and compliance education in Ghana and the West African sub-region.
This strategic rebranding comes with the opening of enrolment for its 2026 inaugural cohort, set to commence on 1st June 2026.
Landmark International Partnership
At the core of this relaunch is a groundbreaking partnership with the International Compliance Association (ICA) the first of its kind in West Africa.
Through this collaboration, TLI students will now have access to internationally recognised ICA-certified qualifications. These globally benchmarked credentials are designed to meet the rigorous standards demanded by today’s regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and multinational corporations.
TLI has also strengthened ties with the University of Manchester, further enhancing the international stature of its programmes.
Five Professional Programmes for 2026 Cohort
The 2026 cohort features five professionally structured programmes, carefully designed to address critical skills gaps in Ghana’s evolving legal, regulatory, and corporate landscape:
| No. | Programme | Focus Area |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Paralegal Studies Programme (PSP) | Foundational legal knowledge and practical skills for aspiring paralegals and legal support professionals |
| 02 | Compliance & Regulatory Practice (CRP) | AML/CFT frameworks, regulatory compliance, institutional risk management |
| 03 | Corporate Governance Programme (CGP) | Best-practice governance, board effectiveness, and corporate accountability |
| 04 | Finance & Securitisation Programme (FSP) | Advanced financial law, structured finance, and securitisation principles |
| 05 | Gender Analysis, Policy & Advocacy (GAP) | Intersection of gender, law, and policy for inclusive institutional change |
These programmes are tailored for working professionals, offering flexible and rigorous training that combines theory with real-world application.
Quotes from Leadership
Sophia Minkah-Premo, Director of Learning and Strategy at TLI, emphasised the institute’s mission:

She added that the programmes are built for working professionals and that TLI is also offering tailored corporate training packages for organisations.
Dr. Hilary Gbedemah, Rector of The Law Institute, described the relaunch as historic:
“The relaunch of The Law Institute represents a defining moment for legal and compliance education in Ghana. Our ICA and University of Manchester partnership places TLI’s students on the international stage.”
