Requirements:

To be eligible for consideration for the Centralized Scholarship/Bursary Scheme administered by StuFSO, the applicant must satisfy the following conditions: Must be a Ghanaian by birth Be enrolled as a student of the University of Cape Coast on full-time regular or distance programmes Must have completed at least one academic year of studies Be able to demonstrate financial need and must be ready to supply any documentary evidence for decision making Be brilliant/promising as determined by the University Be making excellent academic progress as determined by the University

2. National Scholarship (Government & Local Scholarships)

Name of Scholarships:

Requirements:

  • Ghanaian citizenship.

  • Admission letter from UCC.

  • Proof of financial need (for some scholarships).

  • Excellent academic record (for merit-based awards).

  • Local Scholarship Selection Criteria for GNPC

    Undergraduate

    • Undergraduates (starting as freshmen)
    • Must be a citizen of Ghana
    • Must have obtained admission to pursue an undergraduate or Postgraduate degree program in any GTEC accredited Tertiary Institution in Ghana
    • Continuing students and first-year students in any accredited public tertiary institution in Ghana who meet the set criteria
    • An applicant who is not existing beneficiaries of any other scholarship scheme
    • An applicant in the first year of any public or private tertiary institution in Ghana should have credit passes in six (6) subjects WASSCE/SSSCE . Three (3) of the six subjects should be core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three must be in relevant electives
    • For the purposes of this Scholarship, a credit pass in WASSCE means A1 - C6 OR SSCE means A - D are required for undergraduate (first degree) applicants
    • In the case of HND, the entry qualification as determined by the particular institution and approved by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) shall apply
    • A continuing student applicant should have a minimum GPA of 2.0 (Continuing students are to upload their statement of results

    Postgraduate

    • Must be a citizen of Ghana
    • Must have obtained admission to pursue a Postgraduate degree program at any Public or Private tertiary institution in Ghana
    • Must have obtained at least a Second Class Lower Division during his/her first degree. This condition may be influenced by regional distribution, needs assessment, STEM/NON-STEM or disability
    • Those pursuing programmes to build their capacity professionally (capacity building)

    Foreign Scholarship Selection Criteria

    Requirements

    • Admission Letter
    • First and Second-degree certificate depending on the level being applied for (i.e. master’s and PhD)
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • Letters of recommendation – Both academic and occupational
    • Research Proposal/Thesis (PhD applicants only)
    • Passport picture
    • National Service Certificate

    Postgraduate

    • Must be a citizen of Ghana
    • Must have obtained admission to pursue a Masters/PhD degree programme at a Foreign tertiary institution
    • Must have obtained at least second-class Lower (for Master’s applicant.), and a relevant postgraduate qualification (for PhD applicants)
    • Persons pursuing courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and special needs programs
    • Applicants holding offer from Tuition-free universities are highly preferable
    • Lecturers at Public Tertiary Institutions
    • Persons with disability
    • Capacity Building programmes

How to Apply:

  • Apply via the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat portal (www.scholarshipgh.com).

  • Submit required documents (WASSCE results, admission letter, ID).

  • Deadline: Usually announced yearly (Check official channels).
