NSA Sets August 14 Deadline for Defaulters and Private Candidates to Apply for Service PIN Codes

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced final deadline for defaulters and private candidates to apply for Personal Identification Number (PIN) codes for the 2026/2027 national service year.

The exercise is specifically designed for Ghanaian graduates who completed tertiary education but were unable to enrol in the National Service Programme in previous years. It also covers private candidates whose academic qualifications have been authenticated by accredited tertiary institutions, as well as Ghanaian citizens who obtained their tertiary education abroad.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include:

• Graduates who missed previous national service enrolment windows (defaulters)
• Private candidates with authenticated academic credentials from accredited institutions

The NSA has urged all eligible persons to:

1. Complete the online registration process on the official NSA portal.
2. Submit all required supporting documents to any NSA office (Head Office or regional offices) on or before the August 14 deadline.

Applicants are strongly encouraged not to wait until the last minute. The Authority emphasised that this is a final opportunity for those who have previously missed enrolment periods to regularise their participation in the mandatory national service programme.

Under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), it is mandatory for every Ghanaian graduate from an accredited tertiary institution to undertake national service.
