The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat is now the Ghana Scholarships Authority (established under the Ghana Scholarships Authority Act, 2025). It is the official government body that administers scholarships for eligible Ghanaian students for local and foreign tertiary education.
Types of scholarships
- Local Tertiary Scholarships: Support for students in accredited public and private tertiary institutions in Ghana (tuition/academic fees, sometimes accommodation). Includes district-level review.
- Foreign Scholarships: Bilateral and partner-countr

- National Merit Scholarships: For high academic performers.

Specific rules can vary slightly by year (e.g., Level 200+ for public universities in some cycles due to other government fee policies; Level 100 often allowed for private institutions).
