National Service Authority Opens Registration for Defaulters, Private Candidates, and Foreign-Trained Graduates for 2026/2027 Service Year
The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially opened the registration window for PIN Code applications for defaulters, private candidates, and foreign-trained students for the 2026/2027 National Service year.
In a press release issued from its headquarters at 46 Patrice Lumumba Road, Airport Residential Area, Accra, the NSA announced that the exercise is targeted at Ghanaian citizens who completed tertiary education but were unable to enroll for national service in previous years, as well as foreign-trained graduates.
Who Can Apply?
This special registration is open to:
- Defaulters : Ghanaian graduates who missed national service in earlier years.
- Private candidates : Graduates from private tertiary institutions who have not yet served.
- Foreign-trained students : Ghanaians who studied abroad and completed their tertiary education.
The National Service Authority reminded the public that, under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), every Ghanaian citizen who has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution is mandated to undertake national service to the State.
How to Register for PIN Code
Applicants are required to follow these steps:
- Visit the official NSA portal: gnsa.gov.gh
- Click on “Apply for PIN Code” and complete the online application form.
- Submit/upload the following required documents online:
- A Letter requesting PIN Code or reactivation of PIN Code (addressed to the Director-General of NSA).
- Letter of Attestation or Introductory Letter from the institution attended.
- Certified true copy of School Certificate and original Academic Transcript or original copy of Academic Transcript.
- Copy of Ghana Card.
- Copy of Student ID.
- For foreign-trained applicants: Copy of Passport.
- Complete an online payment as the processing fee.
Important Note on Document Verification
After completing the online application, candidates must submit the original copies of the documents listed above (under point 3) to the NSA office (Head Office or Regional Office) in their region for verification.
Verification hours are:
- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily (excluding weekends and public holidays).
