Below are available Scholarships for brilliant but needy students to enable them to pursue a University Education.

Edu Fondazione Scholarship

Fondazione Edu (Edu Foundation), a partner organisation based in Italy, is offering scholarships to Brilliant but needy university students in collaboration with KNUST to help them pursue their education.

Eligibility

The Scholarship is open to 1st and 2nd Year Students ONLY of the University, pursuing a REGULAR full-time programme.
  1. All applicants must be Regular Ghanaian Students.
  2. Applicants should not be a beneficiary of another Scholarship scheme at the time of application.

Requirements (A Must-Attach)

All Applicants are to include the following documents;
  • Admission Letter
  • Acceptance Letter
  • Certificate/WASSCE Results Slip
  • All Senior High School Terminal Reports
  • Two (2) Recommendation Letters
  • and Certificates (If Any)
  • An Essay on Proof of Need.
  • Parents' Proof of Income, if possible, should be added

Please Note

  • All documents must be in a sealed envelope with the Applicant’s Name, Reference Number, Programme and Phone Number boldly written on it.
  • Submission of documents should be done at the Students Support and Financial Services Office (Room 19) at the Directorate of Student Affairs, J Harper Building, Commercial Area.
  • Any write-up should be typed in the font Times New Roman, size 12 and double-spaced.
  • No Application will be accepted after the deadline.
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview.

Mode of Application

  • Details Required:

    • Student ID, contact info, marital status of parents (check if deceased).

    • Admission mode (Less Endowed, Regular, Parallel, etc.).

    • Religion, religious group affiliation.

    • Residential/permanent addresses (no P.O. Box).

    • Academic details: Current year, program, WASSCE aggregate, campus/hall.

    • Sibling & Education History:

      • List all siblings (names, ages, education levels).

      • Schools attended (Primary/JHS/SHS/Vocational) with dates and funding source.

SECTION B1: FINANCIAL INFORMATION

  • Estimated Expenses:

    • Tuition, housing, feeding, books, transport, etc. (Provide amounts in GH¢).

  • Expected Funding Sources:

    • Personal savings, parents/guardians (attach affidavit if unemployed), scholarships, loans, etc.

  • Funding Gap: Difference between expenses and available funds.

SECTION B2: SPONSORSHIP DETAILS

  • List other scholarships/loans applied for (agency, amount).

  • Disclose any promised financial support (name, amount).

  • Provide current sponsor’s details (if applicable) and continuation status.

SECTION B3: DISABILITY SUPPORT (IF APPLICABLE)

  • Specify disability type/percentage.

  • Indicate if receiving a government bursary and the expected amount.

SECTION B4 & B5: ADDITIONAL INFO & ESSAYS

  • Attach two essays:

    1. Why do you deserve the scholarship?

    2. Why did you choose your academic program?

  • Supporting Documents:

    • WASSCE results, recommendation letters, parents’ income proof, siblings’ birth certificates/school bills.

SECTION C: PARENT/GUARDIAN DECLARATION

  • Parent/Guardian Must Provide:

    • Full name, contact, occupation, employer, income (attach proof: payslips/affidavit if unemployed).

    • SSNIT/NHIS numbers, accommodation type, dependents’ education costs.

  • Second Parent’s Details (if applicable).

  • Declaration: Signatures/thumbprints (witness required if illiterate).

 Fresh Applicants - Hulede Foundation KNUST Scholarship

The Hulede Foundation is a foundation that offers a One-year Scholarship to Brilliant, but Needy Students to enable them to pursue their University Education.

Eligibility

This call is for fresh applicants only. It is open to all Ghanaian students in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years, who are Brilliant but Needy, studying in KNUST and pursuing a full-time REGULAR programme.

Requirements

The minimum grade for a continuing student applying for the first time must be at least Second Class Upper. First-year applicants should have a WASSCE aggregate of Fifteen (15) or better. All prospective applicants should include the following documents in their applications:
  • PART 1: APPLICANT’S INFORMATION

    • Personal Details:

      • Full name (Surname, First Name, Other Names).

      • Date of birth, gender, Student ID, and WASSCE index number.

      • Place of birth, current residence (town/village, district/region).

    • Academic & Contact Info:

      • Hall of affiliation, year of study (e.g., First Year), phone numbers, email.

      • Church affiliation (e.g., PENSA, GHAMSU).

      • Program details: College (e.g., CANR, COS), residential address during school.

    • Admission & Financial Status:

      • Admission mode: Less Endowed, Parallel, Fee-Paying, Regular, or Other.

      • Confirmation of fee payment (Yes/No).

      • Current financial support (if yes, provide details).

    • SHS Background:

      • Name of SHS attended, program offered, and period of attendance.

    PART 2: PARENT/GUARDIAN INFORMATION

    • Father’s Details:

      • Full name, marital status (check if deceased), address, occupation, unemployment status.

      • Number of children, mobile number, responsibility for applicant’s education (Yes/No).

    • Mother’s Details:

      • Same as above (full name, marital status, occupation, etc.).

    PART 3: STUDENT DECLARATION

    • Certification:

      • Applicant confirms all provided information is accurate.

      • Authorizes verification of financial/academic status by fund administrators.

    • Required Signatures:

        • All documents must be in a sealed envelope with the Applicant’s full name, programme, student reference number, and phone number boldly written on it.
        • Submission of documents should be done at the Student Support and Financial Services Office (Room 19) at the Directorate of Student Affairs, J. Harper Building.
        • Any write-up should be typed in the font Times New Roman, size 12, and double-spaced.

The Hulede Foundation is a foundation that offers a One-year Scholarship to Brilliant but Needy Students to enable them to pursue their University Education.

Eligibility

This call is for continuing students who are already beneficiaries of the Hulede Foundation Scholarship.

Requirements

All Applicants applying to be reconsidered are to include the following documents in their applications:
  • A Letter Showing Proof of Continuous Need
  • Results Slip Showing C.W.A. (Endorsed by Head of Department or Examination Officer)
  • Renewal Applicants are required to provide proof of community service
Community Service Report and Pictures (Videos will only be submitted by applicants who have been shortlisted for interview)
  • Renewal Applicants should explain their community service experience and the impact that it has made.

Educational Pathways International Scholarships

Educational Pathways International (EPI) is a foundation that offers a Four-year Scholarship to Brilliant but Needy Students to enable them to pursue their University Education in their respective Countries. Eligibility The Scholarship is open to all Ghanaian students in their 1st & 2nd year, who are Brilliant but Needy Students of KNUST and who are pursuing a full-time REGULAR programme. Requirements The minimum grade for prospective continuing student applicants must be at least a Second Class Upper (CWA of 67 and above). First-year applicants should have a WASSCE result /aggregate of at least nine (9). All prospective applicants are to include the following documents in their applications:
  • Admission Letter
  • Acceptance Letter
  • WASSCE Certificate
  • High School Transcripts or all Terminal reports.
  • Recommendation letters and other awards or certificates (if any).
  • Continuing student applicants should also add their complete University Academic Transcripts (including current - Second Semester results).
  • CONTINUING STUDENTS who are beneficiaries of other scholarships are not eligible to apply.

S.T. Nankani and Hagan Foundation offers one-year financial support to Brilliant but Needy Students to enable them to pursue their University Education at KNUST.

Eligibility

The Bursary is opened to ONLY 2ND-YEAR brilliant but needy regular Ghanaian students, from College of Science, College of Engineering and College of Agric and Natural Resources.

Requirements

All prospective applicants are to include the following documents in their applications
  1. The minimum grade for prospective applicants must be at least a Second Class Upper (CWA of 60 and above).
  2. Admission Letter
