RESCHEDULE OF THE COMMENCEMENT DATE FOR THE GHANA TEACHER LICENCE EXAMINATION (GTLE)
The National Teaching Council (NTC) wishes to inform all candidates and other relevant stakeholders that the commencement date for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), originally scheduled for Monday, 23rd March 2026, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, 24th March 2026.
Nursing Scholarship from University of Toronto to all International students-Apply now
The change has become necessary due to the statutory public holiday to be observed on Monday, 23rd March 2026. All candidates are therefore advised to take note of the change and comply accordingly.
Candidates must note that all other arrangements remain unchanged.
New Examination Timetable (Confirmed):
- Tuesday, 24th March 2026 — General Professional Knowledge
- Wednesday, 25th March 2026 — Grade-Level Specialism Pedagogy
- Thursday, 26th March 2026 — Multiple Subjects Content / Single Subjects Specialism
The National Teaching Council regrets any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciates the cooperation of all candidates and stakeholders.
Why Was the Exam Rescheduled?
The Government of Ghana has declared Monday, 23rd March 2026 a public holiday to enable citizens to observe Eid-ul-Fitr and Shaqq Day celebrations (following the earlier declaration for Friday, 20th March and related observances). This is a statutory public holiday, making it impossible for the examination to proceed on the original date. The NTC acted swiftly to shift the entire schedule by one day while keeping the structure and venues intact.
Important Notes for All Candidates

- Your centre allocation and other details remain the same only the dates have shifted forward by one day.
- No changes to the examination format, content areas, or requirements.
- Results are still expected in April/May 2026 as previously communicated.
