BE AWARE OF SCAMS! GETFund Warns Public About Fake Recruitment & Contract Offers
Fraudsters Using GETFund’s Name to Deceive Job Seekers and Contractors
The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has issued an urgent public alert warning citizens about fraudulent recruitment and contract schemes circulating online. Scammers are impersonating GETFund officials, using fake forms and adverts to extort money from unsuspecting victims.
How the Scam Works
-
Fraudsters create fake job/contract advertisements on social media, claiming to be from GETFund.
-
Victims are asked to pay money for application forms, processing fees, or "guaranteed" contracts.
-
These scams do not come from GETFund—they are illegal schemes designed to steal money.
Official Statement from GETFund
In a strongly worded notice, GETFund Management clarified:
"We do NOT solicit contractors, suppliers, or employees through social media ads or unauthorized forms. Any such claims are FALSE and fraudulent."
The Fund advised the public to: Ignore & Report – Disregard any suspicious job/contract offers. Verify First – Check only official GETFund channels (website & verified social media). Report Scammers – Alert the Police or GETFund Secretariat (East Legon, opposite Trinity Theological Seminary).
How to Spot a GETFund Scam
Asks for payment (forms, processing fees, "registration charges"). Unofficial contact (Gmail, WhatsApp, personal numbers instead of GETFund’s official lines). No formal interview process – Legitimate GETFund jobs follow due process.
Stay Safe! Always Verify Before Applying
GETFund reassures the public that it operates with transparency and proper corporate governance. If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is!
