GAF wishes to inform qualified applicants of the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise that documentation and body selection will take place from 12 to 13 November 25 at the various screening centres.
Ghana Armed Forces Extends Recruitment Deadline Due to Technical Issues

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced an extension to the deadline for their ongoing recruitment exercise. According to an official press release issued today, the deadline has been pushed back by one week to accommodate technical challenges faced on the recruitment portal.

EXTENSION OF RECRUITMENT DEADLINE
The Ghana Armed Forces has extended the deadline for the ongoing recruitment exercise by one week due to some technical challenges encountered on the recruitment portal during the initial period. The new deadline is 7 November 2025.
The Armed Forces regrets any inconvenience caused and counts on the cooperation of the general public.

General Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must satisfy these foundational requirements:
- Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
- Be of good character.
- Be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 25 years for Non-Tradesmen, or not more than 27 years for Tradesmen, by 30 December 2025.
- Be medically fit according to Armed Forces standards.
- Be not married.
- Be not bonded.
- Be of minimum height: 1.68m (5’6″) for males and 1.57m (5’2″) for females. For Military Police only: 1.75m (5’9″) for males and 1.70m (5’7″) for females.
- Have six (6) Credits (not less than Grade 6) at BECE, including English and Mathematics.
- Have six passes at WASSCE (up to Grade D7 for Army candidates in English and Mathematics plus four other passes; Grade C6 required for Navy and Air Force in all subjects), or equivalent trade qualifications from GES at Intermediate or Advanced Level.

Army Candidates
In addition to general eligibility, specific roles require the following:
- Infantry/Armour/Artillery/Military Police: 6 Passes at WASSCE, including English and Mathematics.
- Pay Corps:
- 6 Passes at WASSCE (including English and Mathematics) with Accounting or Business options.
- Or RSA Stage III in Accounting.
- Or Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting Option).
- Or HND in Accounting.
- Engineer Corps (Technical/Vocational/Diploma/Certificate in):
- Electricians: GES Intermediate Certificate, COTVET Certificate II, City and Guilds in Electrical Engineering, etc.
- Plant Mechanics/Fitters: Similar certificates in Plant Mechanics.
- Survey Assistants: Certificates in Surveying.
- Painting/Sign Writing: Certificates in Painting/Sign Writing.
- Plumbers & Masons: Certificates in Plumbing/Masonry.
- Wood Construction Technology (Carpentry): Certificates in Carpentry/Joinery.
- Welder & Steel Bender: Certificates in Welding and Fabrication.
- Topo/Architectural Draughtsman: Certificates in Architectural Drawing.

- Signals:
- System Operators (General): WASSCE passes in Mathematics and Science or technical background.
- Technicians: Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, etc.
- Hardware Technicians: COMPTIA A+, Networking Engineering.
- Radio Technician: Telecom Technician certificates.
- Telephone Technician: Telecom or Fibre Optic certificates.
- Information Technology (IT): 6 Passes at WASSCE (including English and Mathematics) plus Diploma/Certificate in:
- Network Administration (LINUX/Windows Server).
- Database Administration (MySQL, SQL, Oracle).

- Ordnance Corps:
- Storeman/Woman: Diploma in Business Studies and HND in Purchasing and Supply.
- Ammunition Technicians: 6 Passes at WASSCE (Science student).
- Tailors & Cobblers/Leather Works: GES Intermediate Certificate, COTVET II, NVTI Grade I & II.
- Clerk General Duties: 6 Passes at WASSCE (including English and Mathematics) plus certificates in secretarial duties, typing, etc.
- Education Corps: 6 Passes at WASSCE (including English and Mathematics) plus Teachers Post-Secondary Certificate A or Diploma in Education (including French options).
- Sportsmen: Between 18 and 25 years, proven track record in sports like Boxing, Football, Athletics; must meet physical standards and pass trials.
Navy Candidates
- Executive Branch: 6 Credits (not less than C6) at WASSCE (including English and Mathematics) for roles like Boatswains Mate, Radar Plotters, Wireless Telegraphist.
- Supply and Secretarial Branch:
- Writer (General Duties): Certificates in Commercial Examination, Computer Software, Stenographer GD II.
- Writer (Pay): Accounting options at WASSCE or diplomas.
- Stores: Business subjects at WASSCE or certificates in Storekeeping.
- Cooks/Stewards: Home Economics at WASSCE or Hospitality certificates.

- General Nurses, Midwives, Pharmacy Technicians, Dental Assistants, Radiology Officers, etc.
- Technical Officers in Nutrition, Health Promotion, Disease Control, Medical Laboratory, Physiotherapy, etc.
- Biomedical Engineering Technicians, Diet Cooks, Medical Record Assistants, Emergency Medical Technicians.
- Specifics include diplomas in relevant fields and mandatory national service.
Band Candidates (Army/Navy/Air Force)
- 6 Passes at WASSCE (Army) or 2 Credits and 4 Passes (Navy/Air Force).
- Not more than 27 years for Regimental Band, 28 years for Dance Band.
- Ability to sight-read notes, play Woodwind/Brass instruments; ABRSM Grade 4 advantageous.
General Duties Candidates (Tri-Service)
- Not more than 30 years.
- 6 Passes at BECE plus testimonials/certificates in fields like Agric Extension, Veterinary Duties, Horse Handling, Dog Handling, Masonry, Carpentry, etc.
How to Apply
- Purchase an Electronic Voucher for GHS 200 from designated post offices (listed by region, e.g., Greater Accra: Burma Camp, Accra North; full list available in official ad).
- Access the portal from Wednesday, 1 October 2025 at http://apply.mil.gh using browsers like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
- Enable Cell Broadcast on your phone for messages.
- Enter voucher details, select arm of service and qualification type.
- Upload passport-sized photo (200×180 pixels), personal details, WASSCE/SSCE/BECE results, certificates (PDF, max 1MB each).
- Select regional screening centre (e.g., Greater Accra: El-Wak Sports Stadium; full list by region).
- Preview, submit, and receive Alpha Numeric Identification Number via email/SMS.
- Print report for records; re-print if lost.
- Closing Date: Friday, 31 October 2025.
